Installed one of my Panspeed mirrors... More teasers pics, ha.

As a lot of you guys know, ive have a shitload of pics of my car 80% completed. Well ive finally rekindled the love for the FD, have a well paying job, and am finally gonna finish the damn thing.

As for the mirror, i am in love and am soo happy i managed to find and buy a pair of these things. Glass is currently out of the housing, i still have to fab a metal bracket to secure these things extremely well.

yea its missing the hood and windshield. On my move out here from chicago the hood flew up while on the trailer and destroyed itself and the windshield. It gets better, the hood and windshield were 100% brand new zero mile pieces. 99 spec bumper got injured too, soo pissed. I think i am going to use a VIS or seibon knightsports hood for added venting with the new turbo setup. enjoy...

Mirror looks great.

Wondering what you used for install? Was it a complete replacement for the triangle or did you have to affix it somehow?

Where'd you get them? How long did it take? Are you changing the mirrors because of the rhd - lhd issues? Break it down for us man, I've always loved these.

thanks man. The mirrors have 3 holes that "should" line up with the three metal holes in the door that the plastic exterior triangle snaps into. Of course those holes dont line up worth a crap from the mirror to the door. The mirrors came with 2.5" long bolts that passed through the mirror housing from the inside and should pass through the 3 corresponding holes in the door and secured with 10mm nuts. Simple enough if they actually lined up correctly. Then of course the bracket for the glass is another story and quite frankly i dont want to spend 2 more paragraphs explaining the pain in the *** im gonna have to endure to make these look right on my car. The pics i have posted in the first post are using 2 of the 3 holes and it sits too high on the door sill. Just hard to decifer from the pics. Its not gonna be extremely hard or anything, im just kinda pissy that i paid decent money for these things and i have re-engineer them.

Stroke of luck, i was looking through the classifieds on here randomly. Saw a guy selling mirrors i never heard of, so i wanted to see what they looked like, instantly i fell in love and HAD to buy them. He wanted $350, soo i messaged him and he said he had someone interested for $325, soo i told him i has $400 plus shipping with his name on it right the F--- right now. haha. They cost $650 new and of course you can only buy them new in japan. Turns out he got them while he was stationed in japan and brought them back stateside and never installed them. Reason being, when you remove the OEM mirrors you have a large hole in your door. For me this wasnt an issue, i do paint and body work, i welded it up, shaved it, and painted it. Im not sure what you mean by LHD/RHD issues, but the one nice thing is the glass for these mirrors are identicle. There is no set convex one for the driver, which is great since these are from japan and my car is of course US spec LHD.

This is true, the color makes all the difference sometimes! Some cars with certain bumpers look better in only a few or one color specifically. Montego blue anything.... barrrrrrrfff

HI Pan speed mirror installation help

Just picked a set of Pan Speed mirrors for my 93 Rx7 Fd & I've run into the same mounting issues as in this post. The three OEM holes on the door don't match the holes on the pan speed mirrors. BLACK MAGIC mentioned the fabrication of brackets to make it work. Wanna post up a quick tutorial/write-up on how to secure the mirrors, or possibly some pictures of the brackets and their dimensions so I can replicate?
Thanks!

(I just realized how old this post was, but I'll take a stab at it anyway. Once a Rotary, always a Rotary)
