Nice seat indeed. My boy bought a set of red ones for his 20B FD monster and it cost him like $3200. That's a lot of chedar to drop on seats

Not quite. A USED FD, yes. But remember, this is in Japan, where they had RX-7s being produced until 2002. I'm sure a 2002 model fetches a VERY good price... much higher than our 12 year old FD's

Heck, you know how much the SEAT RAILS for the seats are? $900. Just the rails. You ain't gettin JACK cheap from Mazda Japan...

Yeah, I hear ya there, but still that's pretty damn expensive for seats. I understand why the value of those seats is so much because of its rarity, etc...

Well, that and they're made of carbon fiber... Recaro revealed it's CF seats at SEMA for the Porsche...and they cost a BUNDLE. The material is 99% the reason for the high cost...

Oh and of course Gene's a baller. His FD has been in his hands for longer than 99% of the owners on this forum, and it's one of the absolute best looking, hands down. That don't come cheap...

Carbon kevlar yea. I just say CF. Point is, they're not fiberglass, plastic, or metal seats. They're super lightweight, very strong, which means $$$
