installed Dual XHD-6425, cheap = good for once!

I needed the space for guages in my bose equipped car so the double din setup had to go. After looking at everything I could find it was between the alpine cda-9887 $325 and the dual xhd-6425 $129. Since I was leaving the stock bose speakers+hose, and add on modules would be required for the alpine to get HD radio $200, usb $150, etc the $$ choice was easy as I don't think the probably sonically superior alpine would make a difference considering I was leaving the scosche adapter and stock bose system in place. The dual is not supposed to fit according to crutchfield, but for the price difference I figured I'd take the chance so I bought it from best buy. I did have to drill out 2 spot welds and remove the rear radio support tab (super easy with a bit extender and 3/8 drill bit with 1/4" shank, but that was in no way a hack job). The scosche oea-4 speaker level>bose adapter had to be turned to the max, but this setup sounds better than the stock head unit, plays just as loud, has great bass and is fine for my needs as it gives me HD radio, usb AND aux inputs and a bluetooth module is only $50. for $129+ the adapter I'm a happy camper. they say this unit is not ipod compatible, but I don't have one so no worries for me.
