Impedance conundrum.

Okay, heres what im working with and this may sound stupid.

The situation, 2 subwoofers- three voice coils.
Subwoofer 1= 2000wPK 1000wRMS 2ohm dual voice coil
Subwoofer 2= 1200wPK 300wRMS 4ohm single voice coil
Amplifier= US Amps 400X

my conundrum is, is 2 subs at different impedances a dumbass idea?

what is the series wiring impedance result w/ these three coils?

what is the parallel wiring impedance result w/ these three coils?

or should i wire the 4ohm sub in parallel with the two 2ohm coil sub (that is wired in series or parallel)? final impedance to amp?

cant figure it out for the life of me, bad @ math...

I would get rid of the sub with the single voice coil and only use the dual voice coil sub. I have never heard of anyone trying to wire up to different subs. Wiring the subs in parallel or series will raise or drop the ohms on both speakers. I dont think you could do it unless you wired each sub up to a separate amp

Get rid of one of the subs and get a matching pair if you really want to run two drivers.

so it doesnt matter anymore.. when i was screwing in the 10" single coil sub the drill slipped off the quik-disconnect bit and right into the cone.. hah!
now i just have to stick w/ dual 2ohm coils wired in series for 4ohms to the amp. sounds fine.
btw i drove my car off into a ditch tonight so the speaker is no worry anymore... see: 2nd gen forums for me griping and asking for advice for the new problem i have lol
