how well does paint hold up under the hood?

how well does paint hold up on irons, housings, uim, lim, water pump..etc. if i were to do it would just use the duplicolor ceramic engine paint. i know it will look good when im through im just concerned about how it will look as time goes by. i have a feeling the paint will hold up really well on the iron parts but not so well on the aluminum ones... any experiences or pics of a painted engine over time?

Engine paint holds up to heat just fine. What it doesn't hold up to is being scratched when doing some work on the engine. Some have had luck either baking the parts in an oven or using a disposable torch over the part after painting.

I painted some parts a few years ago (manifold, tb, IC piping and a few other things):

It held up just fine until the parts got removed and reinstalled a few times.
