how far can you pull fd fenders?

Does anyone have an estimate of how many mm can be pulled out of fd rear fenders using the eastwood roller? And better yet what kind of offset you can run after you pull the rears?

you can't "PULL" the fenders out at all with the eastwood roller. I've had it and all it allows you to do its to roll the inner lip so it won't catch.

If you want to actually pull the fender out a bit, you will need a body shop. Search for jt-imports. He had his rear pulled out. Looks nice IMHO.

here did it for you.

Hmm, are you sure about that? We have pulled many diferent cars with the eastwood roller and a heat gun or butane torch, any idea why the fd would be different?

do yeah mean pulling by pushing the fender from the inside outwards to get more clearance for the wheels/tires? dont see how you can pull a fender..all i can picture is someone tuggin on it to make it flare out more

yes, thats exactly what I mean. Pulling the fender out to accomodate wider wheels or wheels of lower offset. No one tugs on it tho, lol. Theres is a tool called the eastwood fender roller that has a flange that bolts securly to the vehicles hub and has adjustment arms and a pivoting delrin wheel that rolls the inner fender lip flat. Once the lip is flat you can continue to work the tool and use a heat gun or butane torch to keep the metal and paint warm to prevent paint cracking and you can actually pull the fenders out.

I guess ill give it a shot and see what I get.

thats just simply fender rolling. i thought you had a special tool
but sure you can set the roller on stiff and push the fender outwards, but never heard of anyone doing that. so if youre planning on doing that, good luck and let me know the outcome. my fenders are jacked up because of my tires pulling the fender lip out

hmm, ive never heard of anyone pulling fenders any other way, how do body shops do it? We have mostly just done S13's, S14's, fc's, and 86's, usually the bmw, supra, fd type of guys dont want flush wheels so they just like rolled fenders.

FD paint is pretty brittle. Good luck accomplishing that without having to repaint after.

you usually slice the paint with a razor blade just at the downward facing edge of the fender lip to allow for some stretch so the paint does not crack on the exterior visable side of the car.

The rivets in the fender edge make a small problem. You might be able to do it with the roller, it may take a long time, but becareful or you could get a nice crack all the way up the side of your FD (drastic of course)

I had the bodyshop do it for this reason.

Also my fenders werent ever repainted, nice huh? Yeah I liked it too.

If I remember correct they fenders were pulled 1.5-2.0 inches, doesnt look like it in the pick, but it was about that size pull..
