How do u take out the FD door spkrs?
I have a stock FD and need to replace the front door speakers. I have all the tools but no experience with taking out speakers. I've gotten a good site for replacing the rear speakers but non for the front. Thank you for the future reply's. em

Getting them out is easy. Getting aftermarket ones back in ,thats the hard part. After you remove the door panel it's pretty straight forward.Just remove the screws on the outside edge of the speaker and remember to get the plug/harness.Most after market speakers will not fit in the black sound case that the stock ones come out of.
For that your going to need a "Rotorzip" tool or a "Dremel".Just lay the new ones in place and make a trace so you can open the hole up some with the tool.It may take a few tries but you 'll figure it out .

I think FD2Boost is talking about the Bose speaker casing in the doors. I don't think the Base/R1 speakers have any casing.
I have a non-Bose FD. I just took it to a stereo shop and they charged almost nothing to do it. There are a bunch of shops in Sunnyvale. Just watch them do the work though so they don't cross wire something. That happened to me the first time around and I had to get them to fix it.
The front doors will fit up to 6.5" speakers. Most 6.5" won't fit bc the magnets are too big. I got Clarion but it matches pretty well with the Rockford Fosgate 5x7 that I have in the back. I paid $240 for all 4 speakers installed at Monney in San Mateo. You can find someone who can do it better in Sunnyvale I think.
I still have one good front speaker and one good back speaker if you are interested... I am in Foster City.
