How did you install the radio in your dash (FC)

Guys, I bought a vert a while ago and the P.O. has the radio in the center stack held in by friction to the sides of the plastic center console surround. In my sport, I took the metal "box" that holds the factory radio in and mounted the new radio in it. I have been looking for quite a while for the metal box that my sport is using to hold the 'vert radio as well. AFAIK they don't exist. I've checked over a dozen cars in the junk yards and they are all gone. I've tried to buy one from people parting out their FC's as well. Noone has one. So how is your radio held in the dash. The current system in the 'vert, sucks bad. Any ideas are welcome.

when I did mine, I just took the radio trim out and took off the stock brackets from the old radio. I used a double din radio, so I didnt have to worry about any plastic spacers or pockets. I found a hole in the side of the new radio to screw each bracket onto, and test fit it in the dash. Then I decided how much the radio needed to move in/out and up/down, and drilled a new set of holes on the brackets so this could happen. Then I just installed it like stock and put the radio trim back on. There was a little gap left on both sides and top/bottom, so I used a large piece of flat plastic and trimmed it to fit around the radio faceplate, but behind the radio trim piece, so take up the gap, and it looks perfect.

Thanks for the replies, I didn't think to get an install kit.
Justinpace; I'm 52 so it's unlikely we went to school together but you never know.
antitrust; Yea that's what I did on my sport. The 'vert came without all the factory brackets though.
