how dark is 35% tint?
I was thinking about tinting my windows and checked the laws, limit is 35%transmition. Just wondering if any of you know personally just how dark or not dark that really is? with the doors and hatch all at 35% how well could people see into the car? Got any pics?
And yeah I already searched.

Some cities WILL stop you for your tints and some won't.
Either way, if you get stopped for something else, you will probably get a ticket for the illegal tints. If you get stopped at night, it's hard to tell

Thanks, SiKoPaThX That's exactly what I was looking for. It isn't really all that dark but looks like it might help keep the temp down and hide stuff in the hatch a little.

True that- esp with a 'vert- that back window is friggin tiny as it is!! Quickly stripped mine- I work at night and had to roll my windows down and stick my head out to see.

Y'know RX-7's came with hatch covers...
not many of those hatch covers have survived this long, and the poeple who have them are usually not interested in getting rid of them. try to find a maroon hatch cover for sale, not really common I think you'll find. And covers don't keep heat out.

The problem with getting darker tint is being able to see out at night.
I didn't want to get pulled over nor did I want to lose the ability to see out at night.
I ended up getting Huper Optik ceramic tint. The benefit of ceramic is that unlike metallic tint, it doesn't interfer with radar detectors, radios, or cellphones.
Plus on a tint per tint% basis, it has the highest heat rejection properties.
The only problem is that it is SUPER expensive.

i say. go with 5% on the sides, 20%back and 35%front. it will look so freaking dark lol. i got mines like this, in the day time you cant see the driver or passanger. bad thing, at night, to reverse park, you got to open the windows and peer under the car cause its way to dark lol. but man ill tell you, it looks hot in the day time cause the front window is tinted but not too dark.

well since I'm not tinting it to be cool, but rather to be just a little bit less hot and to add some "passive - security" to the hatch I'll stick with the legal limit of 35 sides and rear. Anyway, again how does tint usually hold up with rear defroster wires? any danger of it melting in the winter?

thats 20% - still lets a lot of light in - thinking about going 5% but you cant see **** when you are backing up at night - gotta roll the window down
