How to created or re-thread self-shortened shifter???
I have read that a few of you guys have cut down the shifter to make it shorter than re-threaded it. What do i need to re-thread or create threads after i cut it??? what do i use to do that?? also where can i find them and how much do they cost??? thanks for any help.

If you havent done so I would check to make sure that all youre shifter bushings are intact.I checked mine and 2 bushings were missing plus the boots were torn. I replaced them, what a incredible differance in shifter feel and the throws seem shorter. I wouldnt go with a short shifter doesnt seem worth it.

You need a "die" and you will need to go visit a hardware store. If you can take in the shifter because those guys are usually really good at knowing what size it is when just looking at it. It shouldn't cost you over $10/$15 even for a set of "dies". They are pretty easy to figure out how to use.
