oh yea and you are a rotary FOOL lmao
I think you are the ignorant here. Every one here is telling you that it is pretty much a useless mods. Ryberg is very knowladgeble and respected person in this forum. I take his word over any one here pretty much. Just do what he said with the string and see for yourself and if you are man enough you would post here that he was right and you were wrong.

I take it to mean that haters = people who know better and disagree with you. Give me a break.

The only opinions being offered here are yours. It's been a few months now. You're trying to sell a product but you can't do the wool runners test, huh? Or perhaps you DID do it and discovered your "opinions" were wrong?

You don't need a windtunnel and fog. All you need is yarn and tape. One thing that we haven't yet been considering here is that maybe the sides of the hood do vent air ou of the engine bay.

There is a picture of an FC profile that shows air pressure at each point on the centerline of the body. It might have been in the second gen Yamaguchi book. If someone has that pic, please post it.

I was looking for Wargasm's tuning PDF last night and came across some research he did on removing the cowl weatherstripping on his FD. This is essentially the same situation as you are proposing (close enough). Check out his findings:

I'll accept your apology now.

this is prolly the dumbest thread ive read.... jun u must some dumbass kid, who the hell would buy a kit that makes your car look like crap and not even give reasonable cooling. Even if they did wanna do it... do you really think they would waste 30 bucks plus shipping when they can go to your factory (home depot) and pick it up direct for 3 bucks? haha people like you make me laugh... you dont even sound smart enough to be driving

Hello Im Back Haha =)

A vented cowl hood looks like a cowl induction hood from the 1960's but doesn't
do the same thing. Cowl hoods like those on late 1960's Z28s were used to make
more horsepower. Vented cowl hoods are designed to allow cooling air an easy escape
path, allowing the engine to run cooler and possibly increasing stability by reducing
the high pressure area under the nose of a car.

what do you think? babo

Is this kid really that stupid?

If anyone is actually considering buying this, they need to be shot. If you put anytime into researching the effects you will notice that all this will do is suck air in while moving, not vent it. As previously stated by rynberg (who knows what he's talking about). If you still think his idea will work, just look at this vid of the same thing with a 3rd gen

Hell why dont yall invite Jimlab here to show you how stupid you really are.

Do us all a favor and GTFO.

You seem to be missing the point that there is high pressure at the base of the windshield. If you prop up the hood, air will flow into the engine bay while you are moving, not out of it.

It doesn't? Repeat after me... cowl induction hood...

Cowl hoods like those on late 1960's Z28s were used to make more horsepower.
Because they allowed the engine to pull in ambient temperature air from the base of the windshield instead of just superheated engine bay air. Not because they vented air from the engine bay.

WOW. I'm not supporting this guys theory whatsoever but I know for a fact that when my car is sitting still, My Efan is pushing hot air out of the gap between the hood and fender because I can feel it. So if you expanded that gap a little, it would remove more hot air. I'm gonna do it home-made style and if it works then **** Yea. But if it doesn't then this guy will lose a lot of money and it wont hurt your feelings one way or the other.

Well....duh, of course it will push air out while the car is sitting still. Once in motion, however, that will change. If you don't believe it, read/watch Wargasm's experiment. If you STILL don't believe it, try it yourself. Something the original poster couldn't figure out how to do or he didn't like the results he had once he did it....

ok back to prove a point I did find out a fact.
Air does get pushed out of the engine bay at all speeds.
The positive air pressure under the hood is always greater than the air pressure outside of the cowl therefore air will always leave the engine bay. Also long overdue Cowl hood induction was acheived by sealing off the passage way from behind the hood to the air filters so there was no engine bay heat being sucked in.There is a diffrence in true cowl induction and a cowl induction style hood.If you don't know what I am talking about google it you know it alls.
Just though it would be fun to bring this discussion back because I will be finally yes after 4 years testing this mod at buttonwillow the day after thanks giving with thermal probes and yarn also. Also below is a posting of people on the RX8Club doing the same mod to their
8's and people there just seen to be a little more civilized.

:from the rx8forums:

Very true you will get hot air from the engine bay so this makes me believe air always leaves the engine bay at all speeds because I have my vents on cold in the SF mornings and i do get up to 70mph and feel hot air with the slight smell of engine oil in the interior. If the air at any time entered the engine bay through the cowl then you would not get hot air from the vents.Keep windows open to avoid dizzyness
