Home audio question

I don't think this belongs in the Lounge, so I'll ask here.

I'm setting up a home theatre peice by peice. I just got an Onkyo tuner and I now have 6 speakers(5.1), none of them being great...but it works.

Anyway, my center channel speaker is not shielded. This is a problem because I just have a CRT TV. Any way I can shield this without taking the box apart(no screws, all wood glue...Pioneer make).

I know of 2 ways to shield speakers: 1, put a magnet of equal proportions, but inverse magnetic field on the back of the speak magnet. Or 2, line the walls of the box with 1/4" iron stock. Does anyone know of a way to do this without opening the box? Please keep in mind I don't want to spend a whole lot of money on this. The surrounds(Bose) and center(Pioneer) where free.

Anything over $10 is not worth my time/money. I'm saving up for a Klipsch center...but don't have the money for it right now.

Until you get the new speaker, keep the unshielded speaker about a foot away from the top of the TV. One day when I was doing my car stereo I left my 12" sub on top of the entertainment center 8" from the screen and it pulled it all over the place.

I've got it propped up about a foot and a half from the TV right now...but it looks terrible.

Maybe I'll just use the money to get a good speaker.
