If you get rid of all the lines you won't be able to see at night very well. Those lines direct the light beam onto the road.

The lines are not the parts that direct the light... they just refracts the light so it won't blind traffic, the actual housing is what aims and focusses the light.

As for the main question... I looked into doing this a while back but did not seem to get any interest. The only way I can see it possible would be by using a heat gun to seperate the housing from the lens and then polishing the ***** out of the inside... and that will be pretty difficult to make it where your polish marks don't show I imagine.

You could also look into getting a completely different housing that already has a clear front. I've seen them on ebay before... I just don't know if they would fit right.

Without the ridges on the plastic lenses you will have no defined cutoff and stray light would be the end result. The bottom line is that unless you put a projector in there you do not want to have clear lenses...that is if a focused beam-pattern is important to you.

There are no aftermarket replacements for an FD. The housings you speak of are 6054 headlights. These are a different design from what the FD is equipped with.

It is possible to get the lens clear(er). You have to sand it down with varying grit sandpaper...it's a long and involving process. But like I said, if you do that then you are setting yourself up for poor nightime vision if you are just using the stock H4 bulbs.

thanks for all the responces. i see that it is a long process, and kind of foolish to be done. i only wanted it because i think the xenon style bulbs (which i just bought) look a bit funny with those lines in the headlight. i am putting it back to stock bulbs and forgeting the blue headlight look.
