Headlight cover problem

Both of my headlight covers have "issues". The headlights covers have four screws that hold them in place, two in the front and two in the rear. The screws tighten onto slots made in plastic pieces attached to the cover.

On my left cover, the ridge that has two slots has almost broken off completely but I was able to glue it down. On the right side, that ridge has broken loose entirely, almost disintegrated. I need to find a way to create and attachment point or I'm going to lose the cover entirely someday at speed.

If I can't fix them somehow, how tough is it to find replacement covers?

The heat aged that plastic over time...

You'll have to paint them, obviously, but it's probably worth it because most used ones will share your problems or be on the verge of doing so.

If you're somewhat crafty, you can fab some similar pieces out of metal and use epoxy to affix them to the undersides of the covers.
