does anybody knoe how 2 install a head unit on an FC. i have all the wires connected through a wiring harness but that long skinny single pin connector has me confused. there seems to be one that goes in and one that goes out. i have the one that goes to the head unit hooked up but the other is just sittin ther. And now the radio works but there is no music from any speakers, when i unplug it the radio turns on then off repeadetly. i have installed head units on plenty other cars but this one has me stumped.

That one that is just hanging doesn't do anything. How do you have the speakers wired? If you tried going through the factory amps then that may be the problem. There is a way to do it, but I don't know what it is. I just ran new wires directly to each speaker and it worked.

There are actually 3 factory amps. One for the front two speakers, it's in the box with the passanger side speaker. And one on each of the two rear speakers.
If you have an aftermarket wiring harness then it should have wires for each of the four speakers. Just run the wires straight from those to the corresponding speakers. The front driver's is the only one not in a box with an amp. For the rest you can drill a hole in the boxes to feed wire through.
I'm not sure about you're off and on problem though. Perhaps you don't have it grounded properly. You can splice a ground wire into one of the cigarette lighter wires. I can't remember which one right now though.

I think you may be talking about the antenna connectors....its been a while since I had an FC but I seem to remember that the stock system had an antenna in the windshield as well as a telescoping antenna in the back. The factory stereo then took the signal that was best at any given time. The one that fits your aftermarket stereo is the one in back, you can ignore the other one.
I hope I'm not too far off on that!
