Has anyone had trouble with this CD player?: Sony Xplod CDX-M630

I am thinking about getting this for my FD because I like how it is all black when its closed. A few people I've talked to said that they had problems with it breaking. Has anyone here had bad experiences with it?

Thanks,
-Charlie

I have the older version of that which is that first black sony disappearing face..(forgot model number)...but then i only bought it for a year and now it skips a lot....I think its gonna break down soon...So I don't think you should get that Sony Deck....From what I heard is that it has the same problem......Just get a LCD screen that comes with in dash DVD player...hehehehe

If you like the black of it enough, Sony really is the only manufacturer of that kind of thing. JVC has the Khameleon, but the Sony looks better. From everyone I've met with the Sony motorized decks, though, they usually last around a year. If you like the deck enough, then go to a Circuit City or a Best Buy and get one or the other two beat the price on their competitor because they usually have about the same prices. Afterwards, use the money you saved to invest in some kind of extended service plan because both stores replace the deck without servicing it if it messes up. That's what I've learned from people with the Sony's. I'm going to get the Sony in-dash 7" screen this weekend, so I can't totally diss them.

Don't buy a Sony, they make great home entertainment equipment but their automotive products are seriously lacking in my opinion. My brother-in-law has been an installer at Circuit City for years so I have heard of many of the problems they have, that and a couple friends of mine have had Sony car decks.. total POS from what I have observed. And their new Xplod series stuff is garbage, waste of money.. spend a little more and get something of quality.
