might sound confusing but, ok i have seen a few 3rd gen rx7 R1's with it but dont know were to get mine like them. ok- the A/C controls have been moved to the center consel of the car were you rest your arm. now other R1's i have not seen them like this is there a certine add on that came with the car or is it an after market modification. if anyone can help me on this one that would be great. it just looks so cool and i want it on mine. thanx!!

 

Yes, that's a modification of relocating the A/C controls, it's not stock. The one site that I knew of which had a HOW-TO listed doesn't appear to be online right now:

It's pretty simple. Those people took the controls and center console out, cut the air conditioning controls out, and put them where the ashtray used to be. It's just alot of dremeling and bondo, and then repaint.
