good cheap amp to get for one 10" sub

hey guys whats a good amp to get for cheap that is only going to be powering one 10" subwoofer?? I guess it only needs to be a two channel amp unless they make a one channel but I doubt that, lol I guess this shows how much I know about adio ANyways I just hooked up some new clarion and as they sound really good it still lacks the base I like to have in my music (not the big ole boom boom) just the depth of some nice clear base. Anyways thanks in advance for any help.

Ps. this is going to be in a box that I can take out when I want to reduce weight I don't know if that makes any differance but I thought I would let yall know.

I'm using an M.A. audio 400watt 2 channel amp that I bought new for $99. It rocks for only $99.

Used.

But if you're on a budget and are buying new, I like Crossfire, Planet Audio, and U.S. Acoustics amps for the money - clean, inexpensive, reliable power.

Depends on your goals and your budget. Those amplified tubes (Bazooka, et al.) do add more low end, but don't hit very deep and aren't very precise. Personally, I'd take a sub/amp combo over them every time.

Im not a fan of the tubes. Go with a Crossfire Amplifier, Ive installed a few and have heard only good things about it afterwards (and during my tests I thought they sounded nice). Sub/Amp combo owns, go with it.

Cheap is all relative my friend. I bought some Phoenix Gold ti amps and have yet to regret it. eBay usually has good deals on them. If you dont want to spend that much, Phoenix Gold makes the "Tantrum" line of subs/amps/speakers. They are pretty nice for being entry level priced stuff. In any case, I hope you find what you are looking for and best of luck.

I picked up a Maxxonics Crunch PZN2100 for $60 @ Fry's.
It's going to drive a MTX Thunder 8000 10" in a Q-logic sealed box.
Wiring the AMP bridged & 4 ohms mono 250 RMS/400 peak ( weak ? Yes, I plan to go D series when the $$$ comes in ).
Also, installing a Mobilespec Pro Ice capacitor ( 1 Farad 16V ) in front of the amp. That was $35 new on eBay. Hope to keep my headlights from dimming out.
A Maxxonics Crunch P480 ($65 on eBay) will drive the four Infinity 6002 series mid/tweets.
All this gear will go in the interior spare tire bay behind the seats of my 90 vert. I'm hooking up a pair of switched 4" box fans to keep **** cool.
This should top the scales @ 3700 lbs. when it's all packed in there. Fat girls not alowed to ride.

Man thanks for the input again guys! Really I'm in to the go aspect of my car and music is something good to have if I'm not racing witch if I'm doing that I have the music turned way down. I really only need something that is cheap and if I can get it light! I really don't want a big *** box in the back putting a bunch of unnessasary weight back there you know? Would a tube deal be that much lighter than a box and sub and amp??? THanks again guys!

Well In my opinion for quality you'll want a sub/amp set up. A tube will do some, but probably not alot if your into quality (like I am). Subs are easy to take out also, would probably take you about 5 minutes? Amps weigh very little. Pheonix Gold is great too, might wanna check into that.

My friend and I just finished a stereo install in his Landcruiser and it sounds great!

consists of...
Pioneer deck
Polk/MOMO components
Rockford Fosgate 6x9 with 6x9 boxes
two (2) Eclipse 12" subs powered by Phoenix Gold 400Ti amp
1 Farad lightning Audio cap

This stuff was all in a previous car of mine and being one and two years old, is becoming very affordable on eBay if you can find them new.
