Gauge pod question, cant get rid of the gap.
I have a triple gauge pod mounted on the drivers side going all the way up the a pillar. I have the gauges in and working and the pod in where it is supposed to go, but there is this nasty little gap that i just cant get rid of, even if it secure on the top and bottom. (see attachment)
Do any of you guys have any suggestions on how to secure the gauge pod down to the a pillar better? and how to secure it down in the middle where that gap is?

clips
the stock a-pillar trim uses a clip to hold it to the pillar in the middle, try finding a way to adapt the clip onto your aftermarket one maybe? you would need to use some sort of adhesive that can withstand quite a bit of force as it takes a fair bit off pressure to remove the stock trim and your average glue would just break if you ever had to remove it.

I'd just lay a long strip of the 3M double sided tape, the grey foam kind. It's sticky as hell, so if you do it this way, make sure you get it where you want it before you press the pod against the a-pilliar because once you stick it, that's where it is going to stay.

I have a single cup A-pillar mount. To get a closer fit with the A-pillar trim, I removed the upholstery from the trim, then kept cutting/shaving away the gauge cup until it fit flush with the trim. Then I glued it to the trim and took the assembled piece to an upholstery shop. They found a vinyl that was a good match for the factory covering and covered the whole thing. IIRC, I was able to cut away most or all of the part of the cup that mates to the trim and most of what's left is the part of the cup that holds the gauge.

I don't know about screws if you want it to look stock. I've got a triple pod mounted that sits flush (used well placed 3m backing, doesn't move at all). There shouldn't be a problem with the branded triple pods. Definitely check your wiring is not bunched together.

it's a glow shift gauge pod. :X
it is cut to fit in there nicely, it fit nice and flush with the gauges not installed.
I think im going to try to clean up the wiring a little bit, maybe tape it down on the inside. and then get some of the 3m double sided tape everyone is talking about and see how that holds up. Does the tape come loose after you've left the car sitting out in the sun for a while? i was holding it on with velcro but that obviously didnt work.

is your stock a-pillar piece behind the gauge holder?
when i installed mine i had to leave the stock piece in. so i had to drill holes in it for the wiring and to mount the gauge holder. worked out well and looks nice but the stock a-pillar trim is like cottage cheese. not a big deal cause it can be replaced and i cant for see those gauges every being taken out of the car or mounted elsewhere.
i to do not like drilling holes in anything that permanently fixed to the car and have kept all my stock parts incase one day i return the car to its natural state. but sometimes u just have to bust out the drill.

If RotaryBreds pod fit perfectly and its the same as yours (glowshift) then its your wiring or something that is minor.
Try taking the weather stripping off then installing the pod followed by the stripping. Still doesn't work then you'll have to figure it out.
If you still don't want to go with screws then good luck with the 3M backing.
It works well but I do have a single plastic black screw up at the top that is not noticeable.
Not sure the one I have cause I got it 4 yrs ago but here's a pic from back then when I installed it.
Gauges are different now so disregard.
good luck
