G2ers help: 1990 Turbo Convertible !?!??
I have read that in Japan all the Gen 2 convertibles were Turbo. You couldn't get it any other way. If that is true, can you drop a new engine in, add the new turbo hood with the air scoup and be done?
Any info or comments VERY welcome here.
Thanks in advance

You can. but you need more that the engine and hood.
You need:
Engine
Transmission
Driveshaft
Rear End
ECU
hood
intercooler(usually comes with engine)
and a multitude of other parts
Anyone else catch something that i didn't?

I had a 88 Turbo convertible with stage 4 HKS upgrades a few years back
I had the full motor, electronics, tranny, rear, suspension and brakes. Whoever converted it spent a lot of $$.
Honestly, the turbo chassis is very flexy. Under hard power you could feel it flex. And the aerodynamic drag at speed was very noticeable. It was cool, but got old if you like to drive hard.
