Question FM modulated CD Changer with 2nd gen. radio question.

Hello all,

First time posting in this section...you may have seen my posts in the 2nd. gen. tech. section.

Anyway, I like the factory look of my radio/cassete player. If I get an FM modulated CD changer, does it matter whether I put the modulator near the antenna vs. near the deck? How does the windshield antenna affect this - should I disconnect?

Also, can the frequency at which the changer works with the radio be changed?

Well with RF, I would put it as close to the receiver as you can. That way you get as little interferance as possible. If you can take check to see what it tunes to and see what frequency you get the clearest signal on. It may mean a few trys to get it right, with the noise from the engine, other stations etc, but once it set then its all good. And with the windshield anntenna, I would leave it hooked up, if you still listen to regular radio. That way you have more service area to pick up and retain the radio signals. That way less drop out, clearer, etc. But if you have sirius/xm, then it doesnt make much difference.
