i'm looking at painting my 86 7 flat black, i'm still a little worried about it. have any of you guys seen anyflat black ones, or have any pictures? anything would be helpful. thanks

 

If your car has paint now, it'll look better than painting it flat black.

Heres the only flat back 7 i've seen. Looks ok IMO, but if you've got it painted already, keep it.

 

see the thing is its white right now, about 4 diffrent shades of it... and i have red hood on it, so i think i might do it. if i do i will be sure to post some pics for everything to see. thanks for the input guys

 

If the body doesn't need any work, have it painted at MAACO. They'll do an acceptable job and it will look better than if you rattle-can it.

If you think your current paint job is tough to keep looking decent, flat finish is worse.

 

I'll be painting my miata flat black later this next week (As long as the hurricane doesn't F it up). My plan is a bit simplier and cheaper than some cars that go FB.

The best way is to use BC/CC, with a flatner in the clear. Most durable, etc... Keep in mind everything will need to be perfect on the body.

Easiest/Cheapest way. Paint the car with a single stage enamal black glossy paint. When you go to wetsand it, wetsand all the way through some scotchbrite, and then stop without polishing it. It will be flat black, easy to repair, and if you get tired of it, you can always buff it out and make it shine.

I've seen a hotrod painted this way, and it look downright good. I'm doing it this way as the car is a track car, and only needs to have a 5/5 job. 5' or 5 mph.

 

go to your local paint store and get ready to spray bumper black.

 

Flat black makes the car look like it has been burned.

 

flat black is only acceptable if you're a ricer or in the process of painting.. and that shouldn't be driven on the street (just my opinion, which is very worthy of bias)
