fixing cracked plastic

i recently got a wreck with a pretty much good-as-new black interior but some of the console pieces and the mirror console are cracked, is there anything i can buy to 'weld' the plastic back together and does it look alright afterwards, ive got this stuff called di-chloro methane which welds acrylic plastics but im afraid to use it on anything precious :P. any advice is appreciated.

easier said than done in australia, most interiors are simply destroyed by the excess heat from our shitty weather. plus 7s are rarer here, especially 1st gens
