First-gen install kit?

I don't want anything fancy, just a new CD receiver in my first-gen. It still has the original stack of tuner, cassette and equalizer. Does ANYONE know where to find a kit for installing a new Blaupunkt?

You may want to pay attention to the size of the opening; the cassette deck with the 2 *****, after removing, I filed back the opening. I'm talking mm at a time. Check and see if if fits. Nope? File more. First time took me about 3 hours, second time took me about 30 minutes. Make sure to don't go too big or you'll be buying a new console piece. Good luck!

Oh ya, as far as where the EQ sits, you can buy a change tray that works and spruces up the console piece rather than covering it with platic. Check out www.mazdatrix.com under interior.

i hate this problem

I didn't know about that pocket to replace the eq....that looks pretty good...still you are forced to get two double-din sized components or go for a double-din sized unit. the worst thing is they all suck, and no single component (that i know of) has a silver/gray panel with amber illumination, so no matter what you get you gotta comprimise somewhere. this is the reason that I have put up with my stock dying stereo for so long.

Definitely going to get that pocket piece...at least it is a start, if only they had one that has 1.5 din, it would be great cd storage.

is there any way you could mount a head unit in the glove box, but keep some of the components (the eq and/or tape) still working? i'd love to do this, but don't know if there's a possibility for this to work out. i'd like to keep my car as stock as possible, so maybe the head unit could be removed at any time and rewire the original radio component up or something? just some ideas i've had, but i need to know if they'd work.

thanks
