FD - running speaker wires to the doors?

How have folks run speaker wire to their door speakers in an FD?

OR, is everyone just using the thin Bose interconnects as their speaker wire?

Personally I would rerun the wire, but it's tricky. If you do a search you will find a topic about this from a few months back.

I ran the wire through the existing hole in the body by the piece that limits how far the door opens then slit the "snake" and ran it through there into the door. No one will ever know it's there unless you point it out.

I did that too on my previous install, but thought that without a grommet, it would eventually short out the wire? Also, in order to drill the hole through the side of my car's passenger cabin, I had to unbolt/almost remove, the door first.

The wire was orange in color, so I wrapped it well with black electrical tape. I don't think I'll have a problem with shorting.
