FD Interior Question
Does anyone have a write-up, pics or something that shows how to remove the gauge cluster and that plastic around the heater swtiches and cd player? I'm afraid to pull it hard, because it might broke or something. I don't know how many screws are there.
Also, that plastic on the doors where the windows switches are. Does the whole door pannel have to come off or not? How do you take that off?
Thanks

You have to take the door panel off. Here is how to take it off.

I am not sure how to take off the center dash console.

The gauge cluster is easy, just pull. You have to remove the steering column trim first, basically just pull the bottom peice down, while pulling the top up. Theres a wiring harness for the light, and the ring that goes around the ignition clyinder, carefull of both of those. I usually start at the bottom of the cluster, and get the clips to pop on that first. The pull straight out. Its tight the first few times, but theres really no trick to it, just pull.
Once its out you can see the two screws that attach the plastic surround for the climate control.

I just recently took mine all apart too and I left the 2 screws out that are behind the gauge cluster that hold on the center piece.
This makes it a lot easier next time you have to take the center piece out only because all you have to do is pop out the gauge cluster but not disconnect all the wires. And leaving the 2 screws out have no affect on how the center piece fits or stays in place.
I hope that made sense.
