Interior color change?

So my '93 touring has a black/tan interior.. trunk is all black, interior is all tan except the seats, dash and center console, which are black.

My carpet is worn out, so I'm going to replace it with a black one.. I'd really like a totally black interior, is it possible to paint/dye my plastics and headliner and have an OEM finish? (or better than OEM, since the interior quality in these cars leaves something to be desired)

I believe so - professional shops have done interior panels for people and they come out really nice. If you DIY, start with a professional quality spray-can plastic paint, and use a good cleaner. I've used SEM Plastic Paint and Eastwood "Pre" and they worked really well for painting an R1 lip, which is quite similar to the interior plastics.

You can always mess around with painting the back side of a panel first.

The downside is that any substantial scratch will show the plastic color underneath. But considering the cost of a full black interior, it's a reasonable compromise.
