FD headliner questions

I have a 93 Touring with sunroof. I plan to never use the sunroof (I may even be welding it shut). I was wondering if I were to purchase a non sunroof headliner if:

1. Would it snap in place? Are the snaps in the same locations?
2. Can I re-use my visors or are the visors between the two different?

Dont ruin a good car like that. Just find the sunroof shade that snap into place on the sunroof itself. or sell yours and buy a car with no sunroof.

Thanks for your concern. Trust me, in the condition I bought this car in, the sunroof is the least of whats ruined. Do you have any useful information to add?

Does been an *** is necessary? Just because you didn't get the answer you wanted doesn't give you the right to be an ***.

He did give useful information based on what you stated in the first post. May be you should add that you car isn't in the greatest condition

My vehicles condition is irrelevant to the question being asked. All I need to know is if a non sunroof headliner can be put in place over a sunroof. So how is "sell your car and buy one without a sunroof" useful information? If I wanted opinions on the matter, I would of asked for them. I simply need information. I just feel that if you dont have anything to contribute to the thread, or if the topic doesnt interest you, then dont bother posting. Now this thread is cluttered with useless ramble. I apologize If I came off as an ***. It was unintentional.

If you buy a headliner board from a non sunroof car it should mount normally in the car without any problems. I cant say 100%, but the mounting tabs/screw holes are up front by the a pillars and behind the b pillars, so it should just swap right in. Visors should be the same.

I have a hard time believing that the hardtop headliner will fit beneath a sunroof, due to the thickness of the sunroof and the fact that the hardtop headliner bubbles up to nearly touch the skin of the roof...The fact that the hardtop cars have a lot more head-room than the sunroof ones strongly suggests that a hardtop headliner is not going to fit in your car.

Yeah, what this ^ guy says. I've been debating the same procedure and currently have a non sunroof headliner in the event I go through with it. The non sunroof headliner has bubbles for the heads of the occupants that are quite a bit more spacious than those found on the sunroof version.

This was my concern as well, just from looking at pictures. This is why I was asking before I spent the money on a non sunroof headliner just to find out it wouldnt work. Are the sunroofs prone to failure? As far as I know, my car hasn't run since 2007, so I'm afraid the first time I get to using the sunroof, It will get stuck open, etc. Anyways, thanks for the help thus far. I appreciate it!

Common sense would lead you to believe that if he is welding the sunroof shut, he is going to remove the entire mechanism(sunroofs bolt in). Then he shouldnt have clearance issues.

He only said he might weld it shut. His response to my post did not indicate he was going to remove the mechanism entirely. Welding it shut would be an expensive ordeal. You'd have to find someone who can skillfully e-wheel a patch panel with those subtle bubbles in it, and then weld it into the very very thin roof skin, and hammer/dolly all the warpage out. I can't see that being worth the trouble, at least not to a sane person.
