FD Front Speaker Install: Has anybody tried this?

I' got rid of my bose system. I found some rear brackets to fit 5x7s but finding brackets for the front is nearly impossible. I'm planning to put 5.25 components. I found a good Audiobahn set that the mounting depth is pretty shallow @ 1 and 7/8 depth. Now, I am finding a way of mounting them to the front. While searching, I found this. The idea is not bad. I'm wondering if anybody has tried it this way. List the good and bad please. Here's the link

Thanks,
Jason

That cardboard template that you mount the speakers to is damn ghetto. Don't know how long that would hold up over time. Personally, I'd fab something out of wood or metal.

well im getting some pioneer speakers in about a week for the front and back

6x8 in the back and 5.25 in the front, the place i order it from gives free wiring to wire to factory harnesses and instructions and mounting brackets if necessary.

so hopefully this job will be easy, so far, ive done all my past electrical work and some were pretty hard, this shouldnt be

ulost2my7: Do you have a non-BOSE car? If you do, you can fit 6.5" speakers up front.
