FD factory alarm troubles
Recently my factory alarm ('93 base) has been going off randomly throughout the day. It has become so bad that I actually had to get a jump to start my car last Friday. Unfortunately, the only way I knew to prevent the alarm from arming was to not lock the car...not something I'm all that comfortable doing!
I had some input that if you shut the car off with one of the alarm inputs open (i.e. door, hood or hatch) then the alarm wouldn't arm. Apparently this is supposed to work, and does work for some people, but not my car :-( It merrily arms itself anyway. I've tried locking the door in this scenario both before and after shutting off the motor and pulling the key, but no luck.
Have any of you had a similar problem, or do you know of another way to prevent the factory alarm from arming? I had hoped a simple fuse pull, but there doesn't seem to be a fuse that handles the alarm and nothing else.
