FD door handles
FD door handles
I realize this subject has been probably beat to death but when I try and do a search I get threads that have nothing to do with replacing or fixing FD exterior door handles. Please help !! 🙏🏻
What issue are you having with the door handles?
They usually snap off at the handle and will either need to be bonded (temp repair) or buy a new one.. well used one.
The mechanisms inside jam up. Needs a good grease up from time to time.

93-02 RX-7 FD3S Aluminum Door Handles - Black: Rotary13B1.com
Fits like a charm, reasonably cheap, stronger than stock, etc, etc.

Yes the passenger handle broke about 3/4 the way up or rather fractured. The black aluminum probably the way to go.
what type of lubrication is best once I take em off ?
Thank you for any tips 🤙

I just use WD40.. There's other greases you can use like a HHS, which is like a sticky grease...
I lube the handles everytime they start to feel abit tight. Free's em up straight away...
It's fairly easy as well. Plastic trim off, 2 10mm's, quick spray, back on. Don't need to take off the linkages if just lubing

It's usually years of fatigue together with stretched actuator rods which causes the user to pull up way harder than normal before the door finally unlatches. That eventually causes the handle to break. The rods can usually, but carefully, be bent or re-bent to shorten or lengthen as needed to cure that issue. . IIRC there's a pivot pin that secures the handle with a spring. I think I'd use just a bit of light grease like lithium on the pivot which shouldn't bleed down but last ALOT longer than WD-40.
