FD dash question (speaker installation)

I'm interested in moving the tweeters from my 5.25" components to get some better imaging. They are currently down in the bottom of the doors, which makes everything REALLY right-side heavy. I'm not into the idea of cutting holes in my door panels or A-pillar, if I can avoid it. And I haven't seen an install on the sail panels (triangle) that looks good.

I'm thinking it would work well to put the tweeters in the dash, around the bottom of the A-pillar pointed up at the windshield. My two questions are:

1. Can anyone advise the amount of space underneath the dash? I'm wondering what depth I have to work with.

2. Has anyone done this who can advise the best way? Does the whole dash need to be disassembled and/or the windshield removed?

Thanks.
- Dave
