Angry FD Antenna is annoying me

I have an Eclipse HU. When I switch from Radio to CD the antenna will retract. This happens every time I change CDs because the deck switches to Radio while loading the disk. Is there a way that I can stop this?

Maybe disconnect the antenna motor( while it is down) and see how reception is. If it is OK leave it. Out here you lose the radio 2 miles outside of town anyways and in town can only pick up one.( with antenna up) so i just shaved it and listen to the one station and MD after that. Then the exhaust!! I know this is probably NOT what you are looking for ( I'm thinking you want some info on your deck. And if it's possible to keep IT from doing that. Sorry, No can help you there.

I guess you could figure out a way to wire a switch into the power antenna motor, then flick the switch (to cut power) and listen to your CDs. Shouldn't be too hard.

A time delay relay would work. You'd have to wait the delay time when you turned on the radio as well, but nothing is free .

Wire a relay from the ignition, that way the antenna is up when you have the car on !? No matter weather you're CD'ing it or FM'ing it....

Instead of hooking up the Power Antenna to the Power Antenna wire on the HU. Hook the antenna to the AMP turn on wire. That would of course make the antenna stay up the whole time the radio is on. I think that should work............ Russell
