FC3S Hood Meter Question

My FC's hood meter started to sag down some so I unscrewed it and noticed that the bottom connectors were broke (as pictured below). Are there any tips on how I can restore it back to normal? I tried looking at the diagram in my Haynes repair book but they didn't really show what goes where. I'm assuming this yellow part had some connector at some point?

Any help would be great.

Thanks!

That's an easy one, and a common problem with age.

I simply cut a small rectangle of ABS plastic and secured it with a screw; there's some extra structural plastic in there for you to secure to without any visible damage. This piece now emulates the original "tab" that is broken on your dash. Drill an appropriate pilot hole, and you're done.

I'm sure there is a more "permanent" solution by using some sort of plastic glue, but this solution holds up just fine as long as you don't assemble/disassemble like a gorilla.
