FC rear speaker towers depth?

I was curious whats the deepest speaker someone has successfully placed in their rear speaker towers of an FC?

I was looking at using these Eu-700 as I figure they should provide sufficient bass but am not sure if they will fit.

They are 6.5" mid-drivers with 3.72" depth with a 6" diameter.

Interesting, it's been so long since I messed with the tower speakers that I dont remember. It would be cool if those fit though.

Well after talking to some friends (cos I'm you know, too damn lazy to take off my speaker covers and take a peek) there is apparently PLENTY of room on the vertical for speakers in the rear speaker towers.

Now regarding the Eu-700s my concern is about adapter brackets...

Well if you get a set let me know what you think. I've been looking for a way to get a little bass while avoiding having a sub take up room in the back.

I keep flip-flopping with whether to spend the $400 on a new system (deck + components + those subs) or if I want to stick my POS head unit and two 4" dash speakers...

If I end up breaking and getting the new sound system I'll post with my impressions.

The previous owner of my car had 8 inch Cerwin Vega's installed in the towers. Fitment seems ok as the stock covers can still be used. I guess if a little effort was spent on blocking off some of the holes in the tower it could sound better. As is sits right now it really sounds like crap but then again it could be the old speakers. In any case I'm looking to replace them with a set of 6.5's and call it a day.
