Gonna be getting my FD repainted this summer. Whats everyones favorite red (including paints with candy's or pearl's) pics would be appreciated.

Im in the same boat as you. For me its either candy apple red, victory red or the red from the new lambo

 

the red on the lambo looks good

 

My Fav is the 'Formular Red' by Acura NSX. I feel it's the red-est red.

Super Clear Red II, the Nismo 400R comes in this color and its one of the best looking reds ever.

 

Rosso Corso....Ferrari's racing red

 

I'm still a fan of the stock vintage red color when properly maintained.

 

Dont get me wrong i love vintage red too. Im just trying to see if im missing out on a nicer red.

Im thinkin along the lines of an "arrest me red" if you guys get what i mean. Though i love that lambo

 

I like w/e red this is.. A friends car was a similar color and in person looks completely different than anything.. its very bold.. at nite it almost glows.. his was like a lexus red or something..





Heres 2 nice candies.. i know the nsx has like a gold basecoat.. Beautiful color but doesent stand out as much..

 

Look at the Dupont Hot Hues Inferno Red ($86/pint) i call it a Red that Grabs you by the ***** and says F*ck you.

 

The red on the Mazdaspeed Miata is really nice. My friend has a red one and the paint looks deep.

 

Personal FAVORITE

 

That's Velocity Red Mica. It's also used on the RX-8. I think it's one of the best looking reds I've ever seen.

When my FD goes in for a repaint 4-5 years from now, Velocity Red will be a very, very close second to Vintage Red in consideration.

 

the red on the NSX loooks awsome, also the zondas and lambos

 

if these pics works this is my favorite red its dupont paint and its pure red there is no other toners on colors mixed in it also looks orange or deep red depending on the light same car but it looks different in each pic

 

Gotta go with the Mazdaspeed Miata Red like stated above. Looks SWEET on a FD!

 

So many red's to choose from. Im loving the red on that supra but at the same time Velocity Mica and the red on that skyline are both amazing too hmm decisions decisions

 

great reds, but dont use victory red LOL its my favorite and its getting sprayed on my FB. i think is looks the best of them all

Your profile says you have a '93 Base. If it's a manual transmission car then 731 Vintage Red (VR) manual Base RX-7s were produced in '93 for the U.S. That's out of 1,734 Base models for that year. In 1993, Mazda produced more VR RX-7s (4,264 out of 9,976 cars) than any other color. Of course only about a third of these cars are left now. There are several threads in the forum that go deeper into specific colors and models produced for a certain year as well as how many RX-7s are left.
