Has anyone seen a 99 style eclipse spoiler on and FD? I think it would maybe look good, but don't want the rice look. Most "radar tower" spoilers are too tall on the FD in my opinion. So here is a pic of the spoiler I am talking about, what do you guys think? And can anyone photochop it onto an fd pic?

 

Knowing the people on this forum most will probably say no; maybe some flame comments too. But when it comes down to it its your car and all that matters is that you like it.

How tall would the spoiler stand on an FD?

 

I don't think it will look good at all.. Too much like the ugly Supra Style wing on an FD.

 

i like spoilerless FD's too. and that spoiler is too much rice for me, but its ur car so its all up to u :p

It may look decent, but I am doubting it. I am not sure on the width, but you may want to look into the same style found on the 3000gt, unless they are the exact same wing (i have no idea). Also, maybe try the Racing Beat Type 1 which gives somewhat that high rounded spoiler look but still keeps stock wing style, or even the $$ feed wing.

 

racing beat type 2 is my fav, just cause the 99 spec is too expensive Anywas I wouldent want the same wing as an eclipse.

 

It appears the height is only 8 inches, which is why I like it. I like Supra style wings, but most are WAY too tall, especially the stock supra wing. And the 8 inches would even be less on the FD since the FD's trunk "bubbles" up in the middle.

If I already bought it, I wouldn't be asking you how it would look. Post a pic of your car, I guarantee there is something you have done to your car that people will think is fugly or ghetto. I mean come on, how many damn people put those rediculous tall metal wings on thier FD and think it looks good. Or the pathethic looking 99 style spoiler. People think different things look good.

True.. but the vast majority like the 99 spec spoiler, where as they will dislike the Supra style wing, or this one.

 

I would like to see a pic before making a decision either way.

I like the car too be a little more understated. On the other hand it is time for something different in the world of FDs. The 99 wing style is played out in my opinion. everyone has one, but WTF do I know...nothing

it would look alright... i think a shaved FD looks best. the only wing i'd get is the 99 spec... the racing beat is kinda massive and ricey...

it would definitely keep the smooth look of the car. the only problem i have with wings is they make the car not smooth anymore, thats why i hesitate about the 99. but from certain angles like front diagonal, it looks like the FD is missing something when its shaved like mine is... oh well, people are more likely to think its a viper than a probe anyway haha.

thats what i was talking about. from that angle and that angle only the FD looks nice with a wing and looks like it needs one when it doesnt have one.

I do not think it would look too good. It's too bulky at the bottom. I'd say, for the same look that goes better with the FD get the FEED replica spoiler from Rotary Extreme. It has the same basic shape, but is adjustable in the center

 

It's true that it's your car and you can do whatever you want with it.

But I think what he really meant was your opinion about the spoiler, not his.

I agree with Sprockett.... the FEED or FEED replica is about as high as one would want to go. Since the basic shape of the car's rear is sorta flat & wide, a tall wing would look out of place. Supra's & Eclipse's have higher/taller rears, so it's less obtrusive

FD's look the best with No wing! Clean

 

It would look like **** with the Eclipse spoiler. Ths shape ofthat spoiler is really ugly. Its very thick where it connects to the trunk or rear quarterpanels. It is also very round and I don't just mean the edges but the arch in the spoiler is very round and it's just not very attractive. I really like the 97-99 eclipses otherwise and I think they would look great with a supra spoiler because it's simmilar to the stock turbo wing and its a beutiful wing if you put it on the right car. (Not on the rx-7 in my opinion.)
