I recently had an engine fire which destoryed all of my engine bay and part of the dash.
The question being, How do I get my CD's out of my changer? as I no longer have power to it?
It is a Sony 10 disc changer (EXCD-3) and it was not dameged, it was mounted in my drivers side bin.
Thanks,
Chris

12 volts to the right pins should do the trick. I don't know which ones they are though. If you break the case open, a red and a black wire should be the right ones. Just supply them with a 12v source and hit the eject button. I'm pretty sure there's no manual release.
Really? Usually there IS a manual release. I don't know about Sonys though.
For the hell of it, look for a pinhole on the face of the unit (you'll probably have to slide the cover of the changer to see it), but on the mechanism. Stick a paperclip in there... use common sense; if it feels like something's going to break, stop!
