i am buying an 88GTU and the owner of it says it might need a new clear coat. What i'm wondering is are there different types of clear coats out there? can i get one to darken the color of the car or one to add a flake or something. also what price range do clear coats run in? the car is red.

 

first off, i work in a paint store, and there are many different types of clear, it just all depends on the quality you wont, and if it is a factory paint job, you really aren't gonna want to scuff the paint and then clear over it, you'd be better off repainting the car, it would last alot longer, and look alot better.
