DHD's are pretty good man. I used to work at a stereo shop out here in Los Angeles. I still use DHD amps now, the Subwoffers they make are pretty impressive to.

My very close friend owns a car audio shop, and told me not to get any DHD products. They are considered cheap, and only last a couple of months. He said alot of customers would bring them back about the amp overheating or something going wrong. My friends' shop does some of the best work around here. He said they are a "generic" brand.

It's true that DHD is a lower name brand but it doesn't mean they are so cheap. I worked for a wholesale distributor of car audio electronics out here in Los Angeles for a couple of years. In that time we sold countless lots of DHD products including the subwoofers, which I might add are rather impressive for the price, and we rarely ever got any returns on them for quality defects or any other defects for that matter. We did however get a countless number of returns on Rockford fosgate amplifiers in 2002 and several sony amps in 2003. DHD may not be as popular a name as others but it doesn't mean it's cheap. Many of my cars have had complete DHD systems in them over the past 4 years, with the exception of the headunit and midrange(door) speakers, and I have only had a problem with one amp in that time. Use it or don't use it, that's what it comes down to. I personally think DHD is worth the time of trying for the price they are sold at but it's up to the person spending the cash in the end.
