Decals!

Just added vinyl decals to my 93 VR Base Model.

What do you use to protect them? Is there a "clear coat" you can apply to keep edges from peeling?

Decals never stay on my car for more that a month. Once the event, show or photo shoot is over they come off. Never leave decals on for too long. You want to avoid any damage to your paint.

If the decals corners start to peal then replace the sticker simple as that. What ever shop you have that cuts your decals have them keep a file or disk of the decals you commonly use and the sizing so you can always have them made.

my decals have been on for two years and still look fine (not peeling) just a little faded.

I don't have any replacements.....The decals are ones I got to represent the various equipment I am using. Some I had to pay for, in order to get them all white so they would match.

Foz- You mean you don't do that ricer trick where you put a "Type R" sticker on some old beater with a coffee can exhaust and three foot high wing? I've got an old Crane Camshafts sticker somewhere that I've been thinking of putting on my FD.

I thought the purpose of decals was to get the parts *cheaper* than you would have, otherwise.

Pix can be seen by going to the first post on this thread and clicking where it says "Click here to see pics"

No Ricer here! If it's not on my Rex, then it won't be plastered on the body!

I'm sticking to one color....white on my Vintage Red Rex

Actually decals are reserved for companies who have paid or given parts for my car.

Personally, I like the idea of showing off your part brand names! You have spend a load of $$ on them, and most people can't tell. That will help scare off ricers who want to race, b/c it makes you look as tough as you are (the car I mean ) Looks great!

Personally, I prefer the sleeper look. There is NOTHING on the exterior of my car to even suggest what I've done to it. I even have the 14" phone dial rims still!

I am getting a lot of lookers, coming up and asking questions like.........Most are pretty intelligent questions but every noe & then you get one like "Is that a rotary? Does it have 6 0r 8 cylinders?"

I'm not trying to scare anyone off, or show off what I've done.....I just thought they would look cool.

I'm thinking of getting decals that are reflective black, which changes to white when light is shined on them. That way, the decals could blend in with my black paint, and would have sort of a ghost look.

Me too. They are only of companies that have actually sponsored me in some way.

Maybe some rice wine vinegar. That should do it.

Right on.

I would never broadcast the parts I had in my car.... unless I was sponsored and had to. Thats like asking for your stuff to be stolen.
