when they or you installed your kit....did they remove the front rebar "front bumber" to make the front end fit???

Is the 99 rebar compatible with other bumpers? I know it has a part that sticks up for the front plate, but can't tell how far. I'm not running a front mount so I want to get a 99 rebar for my new bumper.
