custom door panels w/pic
I'm looking around to find any upholstery shops that would make some custom door panels like this one I found:
I don't really like the "velvet" or "suede" look, but I'm looking for other fake leather or nice smooth vinyl type surfaces.
Anyone ever try asking around their local shops for getting custom door panels like this?
Thanks for sharing

Not to insult...but a custom trimmed door panel like the Sparco one in the picture, if you want real Sparco cloth used, is going to run you at least double what you are looking to spend. If you find it for less, please let everyone know.

What you see in the picture at the top for that ONE door panel was probably over a grand, wouldnt surprise me one bit.
I had a customer like you today....she just couldnt understand why it costs more than 20 or 30 bucks to have her ENTIRE Yukon tinted , I mean, she said there was only 7 windows, and she thought I was charging her way more PER window than she thought the entire job should cost.
Sorry, just so many people think that a tradesman should work for peanuts for some reason, or attempt to jew me down to a price they are happy with, not even taking into consideration that they aren't just paying what they think is a fair price but also what they are paying for is all the blood sweat and tears I, and any other tradesman, has poured into learning and developing a professional skill.

Actually, it's just the ones that can't afford their cars that stand out because they make it a point to low ball everyone in the parts section and they shadow everyone else because of their "cheap" acts.

Spandy, maybe I wasn't entirely clear... the pic I posted was just for show. It's the best interior door panel I've ever seen .. but in no way was I trying to get that Sparco panel for $200 bucks. I'm sure it did cost around a grand... however, I would be looking more for what someone else mentioned about a vinyl panel for a few hundred ... think that's reasonable?
I didn't expect to be taken literally to actually spend $200 for a Sparco panel, c'mon.
Anyway, less critique and more hard info would be nice for this thread.
cheers!

My order of choice for "any piece" of the interior, especially the door panels would be :
vinyl -> suede -> leather
I have called a few local upholstery shops who have estimated anywhere from $400-700 for both door panels for a quality vinyl that would last. I'm also getting the same $$ quote for both seats redone in suede.
Thanks for the responses ...

They've done Sparco's demo cars, so I figured it was as good a place as any to send them to. It was around $900 for the pair of seats, IIRC. I just sent them the original covers and cushions, and they got it back to me in a couple weeks. 6 years later, I still haven't got the seats in the way I want.
