Custom box means you go down to the best stereo shop in your town and have them make one especailly for that sub/amp setup. Get all the peramiters of you sub and go to the stereo shop or call the manufactur for the recommended sealed or ported volume for the sub. Then you can get a box made up for the dimensions of your car and volume the sub needs. Understand that a custom box will put you back $3-400 for someone to make it. You can also make the box yourself for about $50 in supplies!

I'm having a custom box made for $150ish. They said it'd be around $275-$300 for fiberglass.

I'm with purerx7. About to start making a fiberglass box for a 12". Where are you making your enclosure?? I'm seriously thinking about pulling the spare tire out of the back and using the space there. We have more than enough fiberglass in the garage, and e-bay will be my friend.. figure if I drop $700 I can get all new *NICE* components. My room mate owes me some cash so the labor will be free ^_^

mines filling up the whole trunk, the first half will be for 1 12" sub and than the second half closest to the taillights will be my amp rack also made out of fiberglass, they will be molded to the sides to fit perfectly. Hard to explain, but i should be done with part 1 in a little bit.
