Cracked dash plastic... any advice?

I just bought an FD. The inside of the driver's door plastic housing has a crack in it. It doesn't really affect the peice, it is just a cosmetic thing. The interior plastics need to be re-painted anyway (planning on next summer), so I was wondering if there was anything I could to to cover this crack up? Possibly some compound is out there that I could put on & sand down so its flush with the rest of the peice? I know I could find the peice for sale, but I am trying to do this as cheap as possible (more money for upgrades).

If anybody has any idea, please let me know. I've found old posts that were about the same problem, but nobody seemed to have any advice. Hopefully I can get more luck. Thanks.
