Complete FD interior switch, any tips/warnings?
hey all... ok, i finally scored a complete black interior for my BB FD (no more tan, yay!) and wanted to get some input from any who have done this before... is it a very difficult job? i will be changing out the headliner as well, i'm assuming this is the roughest part of the whole deal... also, i will probably end up changing out the carpet at the same time, is this a feasable thing to pull off yourself w/ the help of a friend or two? i hate to pay a shop to do it when i could strip it all down in a garage myself and do it leisurely... any information or attack-plans would be greatly appreciated, thx all..

I am only a few pieces away from being complete myself, and by no means is it a two person job unless maybe you want to save some time. The hardest part is the carpet. The headliner is easy and will take no time when the rest of the interior is out. To get the carpet you will have to strip the interior pretty much. Just take everything out and start from scratch with the carpet first with your black. Most of your panels are clipped on, you just have to pull.
One VERY important thing to remember is keep all the clips, screws, etc. with the pieces they go to. If you don't, it will be VERY difficult to figure where they all go. And be careful with them. The plastic ones break easy. I can't tell you how many clips and plastic fasteners I am missing.
But for sure, DO NOT waste your money having a shop do it for you. I would plan out maybe 3-5 good hours to make sure everything is done carefully. It's actually kinda fun and very rewarding when you do it yourself, and it looks SSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOO much better than tan. Good luck, if you need any help, feel free to PM or email (blackttrx7@aol.com) or AIM (blackttrx7) me.
