Color for my MB's wheels?

I did a search and didn't find anything to specific. Basically I have dropped a nice wad of cash updating all of the maint. parts on my car and don't feel like investing in some new wheels right now, but damn, my stock ones are assed out and in need of some color. Some friends of mine insist that powder coating them black would look good. Anyone seen a Montego Blue with black rims, or is there a post about what color wheels would look good with a Montego Blue that I may have missed that you can point me to?

Thanks in Advance
Kyle

*Edit*

Yeah, I am a moron, I probably should have done all this in the wheels section not the exterior section, feel free to move/delete this post mods.

I personally think the bronze wheels look the best with the MB paint.

That's not Montego Blue. MB is a Blue/Green/Black colour - depending on the light. That said, Bronze may look ok.

I'm unsure just how good the black would look. Is polishing them an option?

I know it wasn't MB but, it gets the point across. There are other MB FDs out there with bronze rims. Searching will reveal this.

I can't get anything up when I search. What search terms are you using. I would like a bronze on MB look personally since bronze is a fairly nuetral color.

As far as polishing. That isn't really ever an option for me, just not my taste. Its just that MB is such a tough color to get a good eye on due to it is always different based on where your standing/light/ect.

Thanks man, that bronze brings out the green in the pictures. Looks sick. Appreciate it.

I will walk you through this.

*Use the Search function.
*Scroll down to advanced search.
*In the "Keyword(s)" portion of the page, type in "montego"
*In the "Search in Forum(s) portion of the page, scroll down to "Interior/Exterior/Audio".
*Click the "Search Now" button.

Now if you want to get really crazy, instead of the "Search Titles Only" scroll you can use the "Search Entire Posts" function. Give it a try and tell me what you come up with.

As I have said before I did search this forum for both "Paint and Wheels" and "Blue and Paint and Wheels"

I am not going to do such a generalized search as "Montego" in any of the forums. I want to look for specific information.

You have a search term that will return less than 50 results to wade through, much less 200+?

I think alot of the problems are the people who have a thread title that is like 'Check this out yo" or "Look what I did."

At least now if anyone searches for the same thing I did they will see a thread titled "Color for my MB's wheels?" and know it may apply to them.

Keep in mind, "Paint" and "Wheels" are much more generalized than "Montego" You are looking for Montego Blue FDs with different wheels right?

All you have to do is glance at the title of the threads to know if you want to look at them. That would take 15 minutes at the most to read the titles to 200 threads. You probably spent more time writing this thread than you would have used searching around the forum.

The irony here is that of the three things you searched for (Blue, Paint and Wheels) there is only one of these words in your title(wheels). If you thought that "Montego" was a specific term, try searching for "wheels".

Yeah, but I search the whole post not just the title. And the actual title of my post gives reference to what information I am looking for. So if you do a search for blue, wheels, montego, paint my post will show up. Or if you actually use a combination of words to get some more specified results you don't get alot of useable data.

So I don't think it actually qualifies as Irony.

Now lets say I followed your steps and went with and advanced search (This would qualify as irony due to the fact I did it before you brought it up) and the information I want is Wheel Color for Montego Blue cars.

So I search for "Montego and Blue and Wheels" results?

4 posts.

Mine - one which includes actual information on the topic which I have posted, which I have found informative.

Pst Pics of your favorite 3rd gen - 626 replies, 75% of which the picture links don't work, 95% of which the ones do work don't pretain to the info I want.

FD photos w/ Volk Racing CE28N - great, now I have an idea of what silver wheels look like on a MB FD, instead of searching I could have gone outside and looked at my own.

'94 Montego - Volk GT-N - Now I know what Gold rims look like on a MB car, hardly enough to fill the quest of knowledge on wheel colors for Montego cars.

I asked for help on this subject, not a class in how to search. I can handle that. You haven't provided me with anything useful yet other than a picture of a car that isn't even Montego Blue.

All I ask is if you want to teach someone something don't teach them things they already know. If there is a post out there that covers this with a decent amount of detail either point me in that direction or let me know how you found it.

Ok, I did a search for "Montego Wheels". There were about ten threads on the subjuct but look what I found. It really isn't that hard. Honestly.

For the record, The little smiley face in my first post was meant to be taken as sarcasm.

Awesome, thats what I am looking for. I guess adding paint in there was throwing me off.

I apologize for getting a bit over the deep end. I for the most part hate using forums, but I love the search function. The few weeks it was acting goofy I was struggling.

No problem. I hope that I didn't sound like an ******* (I frequently do though). If I was to buy another FD, it would be Montego Blue. I love the look of it with the bronze rims. In any case, Good luck.

Finished product. Thanks for the suggestions, and you were right Rex, bronze is sick as hell on the MB. The pictures don't even do it justice.

I like gold and MB. I'll see if I can scrounge some pics. Not of my car though, right roto-tooter
