Cluster Lighting #2

Ok, I talked with Cam at pettit and he said it sounded like I had a bad ground.. I grab the Factory service manual and looked and noticed *6* was unhooked so I grounded them and the previous problem of the blinkers coming on and staying on with the rest of lights not working went away.. now I have no light whatsoever. I know the rest of the interior lighting works because I have my boost and a/f meter hooked to the light that goes to the centerconsole that dims on the dimmer. The dimmer is functioning also because I can dim the light on my boost and af meters. Any ideas whatelse it could be?

From looking at the FSM it looks like the Red/Green must be the light power to the gauge cluster.. if all else fails I might hardwire it to a new switch, hook it to a fuse and then to the battery. My eletrical system is such a pos.. bought my car, had a eletrical fire and the harness's looked like they were in decent condition.. boy was I wrong.

pulled out the ohm meter and checked the Red/Green and Red/Black wires and they both are getting 11.32.. and the bulbs are good.. what else can it be?

Run wires from what's working, the center console to the wires that are supposed to illuminate the cluster, also measure voltage in the light socket, undo one of the bulbs and measure the voltage between the two connectors where the bulbs sat....

Also try to get a different ground, find a point on the chassis to loosen a bolt put a wire around and tighten it, then use that as ground to check for faulty ground... somewhere around there you should see a significant voltage drop, and that'l be your culprite... also try testing contiuity to see if you have open crircuits.... (Tip: Your "OHM" meter is probhably pretty powerfull and if used properly can tell you alot obout where to look)

Where from in Central Fla !? (My Old stomping ground)
