Question Changing Colors

ok my 7 is silver and i have a few rust spots and my cousin works at a body shop so i get body work for cheap... I want to fix all the rust spots and possily change the color of the car... Im bored looking at silver i want black so i was wondering if i changed the color of the carwould i have to get anythign changed on the VIN? i know im goin to get new plates and registration anyhting else?

Or would anybody have a shell in goood condition for sale within like 50 mile radius or something with a title?

Changing the color of a car completely is a pain to do well. Unless you've got the engine and all associated parts out, and are prepared to mask off the whole interior to get the door jams and rear hatch, I wouldn't do it. I just hate to see cars that have a different color engine bay and door jams. What you could do is paint the car a different shade of silver, or maybe a candy clear coat, pearl clear coat, or metallic flake. That way your new color still looks very different, but it will match with your engine bay and jams pretty well. It's you car though, if you don't mind the extra work, change the color at your will.
