Sorry Killa FD, they are still in the box. I can't find a pic of a silver fd(mine is silver) with them unpainted, only a white one. If anyone has a pic of a silver fd w/black sideskirts, please post.

If you don't paint them the sun's UV will eventually degrade the epoxy that holds them together - but if the car sleeps in a garage that would take a long time. If you do paint them it's partially a waste of that extra money carbon fibre costs, because you will not be able to see the CF - but you still get the weight savings.
I think black and silver go together, but not as nicely as some other colours. Take a digital pic. of your car from the side and at an angle and load it into a computer - draw in black side skirts to see if it looks ok. I think because the skirts are down low it might be fine. I have RE Amieya side skirts on a CYM painted CYM. You can even just open the box and use clear tape (boxing tape for example) to temporarily mount the skirts to see what they would look like.
If you have a front spoiler (sometimes called a "chin" spoiler), once you have the side skirts mounted you will find the car much more stable at high speed. It generates a bit of a vacuum under the car mostly elliminating the front lift skittishness RX-7s get at high speed.
You will also notice you loose ground clearance, so be careful!

I got a good deal on the CF ones from another member before the group buy ever started.

I speak Japanglish
Once you paint it you have no way of turning back. Leave it as is so you can always think about painting it and not regret. *I wish I could afford getting that side skirts!
